GERMANY: discover German Rock with these 7 bands

Germany has a deep and longstanding connection with metal and rock, with many of its biggest names crossing borders singing in both English and German. This Travel 2 Concert list focuses on German rock bands — and one metal act — that sing in their own language.

Raw, powerful vocals paired with heavy guitars and drums are among the defining characteristics of German rock, alongside a willingness to experiment with traditional and electronic rhythms. Social and political commentary is also a recurring thread running through many German rock lyrics.
