John Lennon lived in an apartment at Montagu Square in London, England, with Yoko Ono in 1968.
This was the couple’s first residence, where they lived for five months starting in July 1968.
It was in this apartment that the famous photograph of John and Yoko appearing nude was taken for the cover of the album “Two Virgins.”
Before the couple moved into this apartment, other Beatles had already been associated with it. Ringo Starr bought it in 1965, and later it was rented for a brief period by Paul McCartney and Jimi Hendrix.
The building has been marked with a Blue Plaque since the year 2010.
The famous blue plaques aim to indicate something historic related to the location, person, or event. They are quite common, especially in London.
