Important to know
- Address: 23 Heddon Street, London, England
- Getting here: Piccadilly Circus Underground Station (400 m)
The street featured on the album cover “Ziggy Stardust” by David Bowie is located in London, England.
The iconic photo was taken on Heddon Street, in the central part of the capital, near the famous Regent Street, in early 1972.
Over 50 years since the photograph was taken, the street has changed significantly. However, a black plaque marks the spot where the singer and songwriter appears on the cover of his fifth studio album.
Today, the street is pedestrian-only and hosts several restaurants.
The full name of the album is “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars,” and it was released in June 1972.
There are other places in London that also honor David Bowie, such as the David Bowie Memorial. Be sure to include in your itinerary. 🙂
