Musician Chris Cornell, who passed away in May 2017, has a statue in his honor in his hometown of Seattle.
The life-sized bronze statue, sculpted by artist Nick Marra, was commissioned by the singer’s wife, Vicky Cornell, and unveiled in October 2018. The statue is displayed in front of the Museum of Pop Culture.
Born in Seattle in 1964, Cornell was the lead vocalist for two iconic bands that marked different generations: Soundgarden in the 1990s and Audioslave in the early 2000s.
The Chris Cornell statue is one of the many points of interest for rock fans, especially grunge enthusiasts, who visit Seattle.
