The capital of England is the birthplace of the group founded by bassist and songwriter Steve Harris in 1975.

Iron Maiden Tour: Steve Harris’ Childhood Home
Steve Harris’ childhood home is located in London, in the Leytonstone area, in the east of the city.
The Iron Maiden founder and bassist grew up at 40 Steele Road. It was in this house that Harris first started playing the bass.
Stephen Percy Harris was born on March 12, 1956.
As this is a private residence, always remember to respect the privacy of the current occupants and the neighborhood.
Steve Harris’ childhood home in London is accessible via public transportation: bus lines 257 and 339, and Leyton (subway) and Maryland (train) stations.
Iron Maiden Tour: Cart & Horses, The Pub Where Iron Maiden Started Their Career
Cart & Horses is a historic pub in London’s East End, famous for being the venue where Iron Maiden played their first shows in 1976.
The only original member from that era still in the band today is bassist and founder Steve Harris. Guitarist Dave Murray joined shortly afterward and also performed at Cart & Horses.
The pub has the slogan “The Birthplace of Iron Maiden” which reflects its significance to the band’s early history.
Inside, you’ll find burgers, hot dogs, snacks, and a wide variety of beers, ciders, spirits, wines, and what Iron Maiden fans love most – Iron Maiden’s Trooper beer selection.
Cart & Horses has also hosted shows and events related to Iron Maiden fans and former members.
The pub is open every day and is located at 1 Maryland Point, close to subway, train stations, and bus stops.
Iron Maiden Tour: West Ham Stadium, football team that Steve Harris supports
West Ham United Football Club is the football team that Steve Harris, from Iron Maiden, supports. The Iron Maiden founder and bassist has always been open about his passion for the traditional English club.
Many Maiden fans make a point to visit West Ham’s stadium, the London Stadium, in Stratford, East London.
Before forming the band, Harris actually trained for nine months at West Ham’s Football Academy when he was 14 years old.
In 2019, the band partnered with the club to release a special Iron Maiden x West Ham jersey.
