The Autódromo de Interlagos is one of São Paulo’s main venues for large-scale music festivals, such as The Town and Lollapalooza Brasil.
Although its name and structure are closely tied to motorsport—especially Formula 1—the venue began hosting concerts in the late 1990s. However, it was in 2014, during the third edition of Lollapalooza Brasil, that Interlagos truly established itself as a landmark destination for major music and entertainment events.
Rock giants such as System of a Down, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Pearl Jam, Tool, Alanis Morissette, Kings of Leon, Limp Bizkit, blink-182, The Cure, The Killers, and Arctic Monkeys were some of the names that have performed at Autódromo de Interlagos.
The venue can hold around 40,000 people for a concert or festival, depending on stage layout and event infrastructure.
There is a wide variety of food and drinks sold during the festivals.
Due to the massive crowds, it’s strongly recommended to use public transportation, as surrounding streets are closed to car traffic during events. The Autódromo train station (Line 9 – Emerald) is about 1 km from the entrance gates. On show and festival days, public transport usually operates on extended schedules to better serve attendees.
Some festivals also offer special shuttle services from strategic locations across São Paulo, such as subway stations, train stations, and bus terminals. Always check the official festival websites for updated information.
