A massive Black Sabbath mural was unveiled in Birmingham in June 2025, just weeks ahead of the legendary heavy metal band’s reunion and farewell show, Back to the Beginning, held on 5 July at Villa Park.
Stretching an impressive 36 metres, the artwork by local artist Mr Murals features the band’s classic lineup—Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Bill Ward, and Geezer Butler—alongside the iconic Black Sabbath logo.
Located in the heart of the city, the mural can be found on Navigation Street, right outside Birmingham New Street Station, making it easily accessible for fans and visitors.
The piece was commissioned by Central BID (Business Improvement District), which supports local business, leisure, and hospitality in Birmingham’s city centre—the birthplace of Black Sabbath.
Speaking to the Central BID website, Mr Murals said: “This mural is a tribute not just to Black Sabbath, but to the creative spirit of Birmingham. The band’s influence is everywhere, from metal music to fashion to attitude. I wanted to create something powerful and raw, just like their sound, that people can stand in front of and feel the energy of Sabbath and of the city itself.”
