CCSP – Centro Cultural São Paulo

The CCSP – Centro Cultural São Paulo is a historic cultural venue in São Paulo, Brazil, hosting concerts, events, exhibitions and a wide range of other activities.

This striking space opened in 1982 and has since become an integral part of the history of Brazilian music in the city. The programming is genuinely eclectic, with shows spanning all styles, including rock.

Cachorro Grande, Garage Fuzz, Forgotten Boys, Violeta de Outono, Made in Brazil, 365, Korzus, Krisiun and Gritando HC were some of the names that have performed at CCSP – Centro Cultural São Paulo.

The cultural centre has two dedicated concert spaces. The main hall, Sala Adoniran Barbosa, features an arena configuration with seating spread across different levels and large glass panels, with a capacity of 622 people. The Sala Jardel Filho, configured as a traditional theatre, holds up to 320 people.

Beyond music, the centre also hosts dance, theatre, cinema, exhibitions, literary events, libraries and educational programmes.

The architecture of the Centro Cultural São Paulo is part of the experience itself. Designed by architects Luiz Telles and Eurico Prado Lopes, the space is open, integrated and barrier-free — conceived to bring together people, art, knowledge and the city around them.

Also popularly known as Centro Cultural Vergueiro, the CCSP is located at Rua Vergueiro, 1000, in the Liberdade neighbourhood, and is easy to reach by public transport.
