Galeria do Rock, officially known as Centro Comercial Grandes Galerias, is a historic space in downtown São Paulo connected to music and culture.
Opened in 1963, the Galeria has experienced various phases – highs and lows – over the decades, but has always maintained a distinct identity and attracted people from different movements such as hip hop, metalheads, punks, and skaters.
Spanning seven floors, the Galeria houses over 400 establishments including record stores, clothing shops, collectibles, hairdressers, tattoo studios, and bars.
Today, the place is highly inclusive and visited by people of all styles and social classes.
One notable aspect that captures visitors’ attention is the architecture of the building, designed by Ermanno Siffredi and Maria Bardelli.
There are two entrances: one at Av. São João, 439 and another at Rua 24 de Maio, 62.
