Planning a trip to explore the places that shaped Seattle’s music scene is already a rewarding experience on its own. But there is an extra layer available for those who want to make the journey even more immersive: spending the nights in a hotel that is itself part of that history.
The Hotel Edgewater sits on Seattle’s waterfront, with a direct view over Elliott Bay. The location alone would be reason enough to choose it — but what the hotel holds goes well beyond the view.
Beatles Suite
On their first visit to the United States, the Beatles chose the Edgewater as their place to rest. The hotel honors that moment with a suite dedicated entirely to the Liverpool quartet: photographs, memorabilia, stories from that period, and a sound system stocked with the band’s records.

The room features a king-size bed, a studio-style living area, and a panoramic view of Elliott Bay. It is the kind of space that makes sense for anyone who wants to sleep surrounded by music history.

There is a curious detail that time has turned into legend: in the early days, guests were known to fish directly from their room windows, taking advantage of the hotel’s position over the bay. The Beatles fished from here too.
Pearl Jam Suite
For Pearl Jam fans, the Edgewater offers a suite created in partnership with Eddie Vedder and the band’s official fan club. The room features posters from landmark tours signed by Ames Bros, a replica of the Mother Love Bone mural above the king-size bed, a Fender guitar, a Marshall amplifier, a turntable, and a collection of vinyl records.

It is a dense and intentional space where every element was chosen by people who know the story from the inside.
Both special suites — the Beatles Suite and the Pearl Jam Suite — are not available through standard booking systems. Reservations must be made directly with the hotel.
Wall of Fame
The Edgewater maintains a Wall of Fame listing the artists who have stayed here over the decades: Nirvana, The Rolling Stones, Jethro Tull, Neil Young, The Who, David Bowie, Chris Cornell, Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper, The Cure, R.E.M., Def Leppard, Frank Zappa, and Led Zeppelin, among many others.
The list is a record of just how many of rock’s most important tours passed through this hotel.
Even for those not planning to stay, it is worth walking past the Edgewater’s facade, looking out over Elliott Bay, and letting the imagination do the rest.
