The British musician John Lennon is honored in various locations around the world, one of which is at the airport in Liverpool, England.
Since March 2002, the airport in the ex-Beatle’s hometown has been named “Liverpool John Lennon Airport.”
On the same day the airport was renamed, a statue of Lennon, sculpted by local artist Tom Murphy, was unveiled with the presence of Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono.
The airport is located 7 km from the city center and takes approximately 40 minutes by bus.
