Since its days as Hôtel d’Alsace, L’Hôtel has always attracted a unique clientele. In 1899, when Oscar Wilde arrived, the place was considered somewhat unruly. However, Wilde, known for his wit and sharpness, famously remarked, “Either that wallpaper goes, or I do.” Since then, L’Hôtel has undergone a transformation.
