The Museum of Sound and Song (Museo del Suono e della Canzone, in Italian) is located inside Fonoprint Studios in Bologna, northern Italy. Visits are guided and organized in small groups.
Founded in 1976, Fonoprint Studios was the first professional recording studio in the Bologna region. Legendary Italian artists such as Vasco Rossi, Lucio Dalla, Zucchero, Gianni Morandi, Laura Pausini, and Eros Ramazzotti have all recorded here.
The museum’s mission is to celebrate and share the rich heritage of iconic albums by Italy’s most influential singers and songwriters.
The guided tour lasts approximately 90 minutes and is held only once a month, from May to December, always on Sundays. Four time slots are available: 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 3 p.m., and 5 p.m.
Visitors get the unique opportunity to explore the studios and control rooms, and take part in high-definition multitrack listening sessions.
The experience is led by Paola Cevenini, founder of Fonoprint Studios, and Pierfrancesco Pacoda, music journalist and essayist, who guide guests through this immersive journey into Bolognese and Italian music culture.
Reservations can be made by phone at +39 335 480 970 or by email at paola@fonoprint.com – contact: Paola Cevenini.
Full tour dates and additional details can be found on the Fonoprint Studios website.
Fonoprint Studios is located at Via Bocca di Lupo, 6, in the historic center of Bologna.
