Man City’s Etihad Stadium: the Gallagher Brothers’ Team

Liam and Noel Gallagher are huge Manchester City fans. The brothers have always proudly showcased their love for the team, both on stage and at the stadium, even during the years when the club wasn’t winning titles or competing in the Premier League.

FUN FACT: Back in 2005, Oasis performed three concerts at the City of Manchester Stadium—before it was renamed the Etihad Stadium. The July 2nd show was recorded and later included as a bonus feature on the “Lord Don’t Slow Me Down” DVD.

In 2008, Manchester City was purchased by an investor from the United Arab Emirates and has since become a powerhouse in European football, even winning the 2022-2023 Champions League. The club’s visibility soared, as did the frequency of the Gallagher brothers’ appearances at matches, whether at the Etihad Stadium or other venues.

Manchester City Jersey Inspired by Oasis and the Definitely Maybe Album

In 2024, Oasis launched several initiatives to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Definitely Maybe. One of these was a collaboration with Manchester City, the beloved football club of the Gallagher brothers.

Definitely City is a special collection inspired by the album cover, designed by Puma in collaboration with Noel Gallagher.

Noel has always expressed his deep love for the club: “I loved City before anything, I was into City before I was into music, I was into City before I knew what music was”, said the musician in a promotional video for the release of Manchester City’s new jersey.
