Sub Pop, Seattle’s legendary independent record label, relocated its store on April 1, 2026, from 2130 7th Ave to its new address at 908 Alaskan Way, next to the Maritime Building.
Founded in Seattle in the late 1980s, Sub Pop is the independent label responsible for launching Nirvana, Mudhoney, and Soundgarden, among others. Decades later, the label continues to operate, supporting independent artists and maintaining a physical presence in the city where it all began.
Grunge fans have the chance to pick up official label merchandise at the Sub Pop Store. The move takes the shop from its previous location on 7th Ave to a new space on Alaskan Way — one of Seattle’s busiest waterfront thoroughfares, with easy access via the G Line.
The store carries label merchandise including t-shirts, hoodies, caps, mugs, records, and other items. It is an essential stop for anyone looking to bring home a genuine piece of Seattle.
Worth noting: the Sub Pop outpost that operated at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport for 12 years closed on December 31, 2025. The Alaskan Way location is now the label’s only physical retail presence in the city.
