The Clarence Hotel 

The Clarence Hotel, also known as U2’s hotel, has a long history with the Irish band. Located in the heart of Dublin, along the banks of the River Liffey, this hotel is a city landmark.

Bono and The Edge, members of U2, purchased the hotel in 1992 and, after 30 years, sold it. During those years, it became a part of Dublin’s rock culture.

One of the most iconic moments was U2’s rooftop performance at the hotel for the “Top of the Pops” show in 2000, drawing fans and cementing the venue’s connection to the rock scene.

The hotel has undergone several renovations over the years but remains a meeting point for the band’s fans and music lovers.

Originally built in 1852, The Clarence is one of Dublin’s most historic and well-known hotels. Despite being sold, the hotel still preserves its legacy for music fans. It’s an excellent choice for those attending concerts at the Olympia Theatre, Vicar Street, or The Academy, all less than a 10-minute walk away.

Additionally, attractions like The Irish Rock ‘n’ Roll Museum and the Rory Gallagher Corner are nearby, further strengthening the hotel’s ties to the city’s music scene.
