The record stores of Belo Horizonte hold stories within their walls. Cogumelo Records, Disconave Café, and All Wave Discos bring together rare vinyl, new releases, and essential recordings of Brazilian rock on their shelves.
Cogumelo Records carries serious historical weight: this was the label that released the first albums by Sepultura and Sarcófago, helping launch Brazilian metal onto the world stage. The city’s rich musical tradition — which also includes bands like Skank, Pato Fu, and 14 Bis — runs through these spaces, which serve as meeting points for collectors and curious visitors alike.
Exploring BH’s record stores on a musical trip through the city is one of the best ways to dive into the local scene and take home authentic pieces of that history.
