The programming focuses on rock and metal, with performances from both Italian and international artists from the underground scene.
Past acts have included Kiko Loureiro, Gorgoroth, Pestilence, Ponte del Diavolo, Cobra Spell, Pentagram, Mortuary Drape, Creeper, Myrath, Brujería and The Last Internationale were some of the names that have performed at Alchemica.
With a capacity of around 150 people, the venue offers an genuinely intimate experience — the kind of up-close encounter with bands and artists that larger rooms simply can’t replicate.
It’s worth noting that most events and shows at Alchemica are exclusively open to members of AICS (Associazione Italiana Cultura e Sport — the Italian Culture and Sport Association). Membership cards can be obtained through the website aicsbologna.it at a small cost, and are valid for one year, running from September to August. If you’re planning a visit, it’s worth sorting your membership in advance.
Beyond the concert space itself, the club is home to a music school, five rehearsal rooms, a recording studio and a teaching institution offering courses in rock, blues, metal and jazz techniques and styles.
Alchemica Music Club is located at Via dei Lapidari, 8/B, and is easy to reach by public transport from Bologna city centre.
