The Royal Academy of Music Museum is a museum inaugurated in 2001 in London, England, showcasing an important and historic collection of musical instruments and related objects.
The beautifully organized space displays, for example, string instruments by Stradivari and the Amati family, historic keyboards by Broadwood, Pleyel, and Erard, as well as scores and memorabilia once owned by significant figures in the music world.
Since its foundation in 1822, the Academy has acquired and curated collections of instruments, artworks, memorabilia, manuscripts, scores, and other artifacts.
The mission of the Royal Academy of Music Museum is to support the Academy’s work and share it with the general public, emphasizing music’s potential to inspire, unite, and stimulate through performances, exhibitions, and research.
The museum also hosts recitals, lectures, seminars, workshops, special events, and family activities, all open to the public free of charge.
Entry to The Royal Academy of Music Museum is free.
