The statue of Phil Lynott, from Thin Lizzy, is one of Dublin’s most beloved monuments.
Unveiled in 2005 by his mother, Philomena, it stands proudly on Harry Street, right outside the iconic Bruxelles Rock Pub, one of Phil’s favorite spots.
Sculpted by Paul Daly, the statue was commissioned by the Roisin Dubh Trust to honor Lynott’s life and legacy.
The sculpture perfectly captures the rebellious and charismatic spirit of the Thin Lizzy frontman, one of Ireland’s most famous rock icons.
Although born in England, Phil Lynott grew up in Dublin and is regarded as one of the city’s greatest musical legends.
His statue has become a popular meeting point for tourists and rock fans alike, many of whom stop for a photo and to pay tribute to this music hero.
Beyond his musical contributions, Phil was also a poet, having published two books of poetry in the late 70s.
The monument also symbolizes Phil’s deep connection to Dublin culture, as he often strolled through Grafton Street, mingling with local flower sellers.
Despite some unfortunate incidents over the years, including vandalism and accidents, the statue remains a powerful reminder of Phil Lynott’s immortal legacy and the lasting impact of his music.
