History of Lollapalooza in Brazil
Created by Perry Farrell, lead singer of Jane’s Addiction, in the early 1990s in the U.S., Lollapalooza is famous for its eclectic lineup featuring indie, rock, punk, pop, and other musical genres.
The first Brazilian edition took place in 2012 at the Jockey Club of São Paulo, and two years later, in 2014, it moved to the Autódromo de Interlagos, where it has been held ever since.

The 2027 edition of Lollapalooza will run for three days — March 19, 20, and 21.
Where is Lollapalooza Brazil held?
The festival takes place at the Autódromo de Interlagos, in São Paulo’s south zone. Since 2014, it has been the official home of Lollapalooza Brazil and can host around 100,000 people per day.

Across three days and multiple stages, dozens of artists will perform at the Autódromo de Interlagos. The Killers, Fontaines D.C., Queens of the Stone Age, The Prodigy, The Neighbourhood, and Travis Scott are among the acts confirmed by the organizers on October 8, 2026.

In addition to the concerts, festivalgoers can enjoy entertainment areas (like a Ferris wheel and brand activations), food and drink options, and official merchandise stands throughout the venue.
What is the minimum age to attend Lollapalooza?
Children aged 5 and up are allowed, but there are specific rules:
- Ages 5–15: must be accompanied by parents or legal guardians.
- Ages 16+: can attend unaccompanied.
Lolla Lounge (VIP Area):
- Entry only for guests 18 and over.
- Under 18s may enter only if accompanied by parents or legal guardians.

How to get to Lollapalooza Brazil
Because of the large crowds, public transportation is highly recommended, as surrounding streets are closed to car traffic.
The Autódromo train station (Line 9 – Emerald) is about 1 km from the main gates.
During the festival, São Paulo’s transit system typically extends operating hours to better accommodate festivalgoers.

Where to stay in São Paulo for Lollapalooza
If you’re coming from out of town specifically for the festival, there are two main approaches to choosing where to stay.
Near the festival
Hotels within 1.5 km (about 0.9 mi) of the Interlagos Racetrack (Autódromo de Interlagos). It’s convenient to walk to and from the festival, and less tiring, but be mindful of the route at night. Depending on the direction, walking may not be as safe.
Near the subway
This is the easiest option for most people. You walk to Autódromo station, take the train and get off at a station that connects to the subway, such as Santo Amaro (Line 5-Lilac) or Pinheiros (Line 4-Yellow). Good areas to look for a place to stay:
Avenida Paulista and surroundings (Paulista, Consolação, Trianon-Masp, Brigadeiro, Paraíso, Vergueiro and Ana Rosa stations): central, with plenty of options at different price points.
Vila Madalena and Pinheiros (Vila Madalena, Oscar Freire, Fradique Coutinho, Faria Lima and Pinheiros stations): pleasant, lively neighborhoods, great if you want to enjoy the city beyond the festival.
What to do in São Paulo besides Lollapalooza
If you’re coming from another city especially for Lolla, take the chance to explore the city’s rock scene. São Paulo has a lot to offer music lovers.
Galeria do Rock
The Galeria do Rock is a must-visit in downtown São Paulo. Its many floors are packed with shops specializing in vinyl records, CDs, band T-shirts and accessories. It’s the kind of place where you walk in to buy one thing and walk out with a full bag.
Rock bars in São Paulo
The city has an active scene of rock bars. They’re also a perfect place to start or end the night, meet other festival-goers and discover new bands in smaller venues, such as the Morrison Rock Bar.

Rock-themed restaurants in São Paulo
For meals before or after the shows, the city has restaurants and botecos (casual neighborhood bars) where the decor, the playlist and the crowd are all rock, such as Cão Véio, La Borratxeria Parrilla and Cavern Club São Paulo.

Teodoro Sampaio is São Paulo’s street of musical instruments, in Pinheiros. Luthiers and guitar, bass, drum and keyboard shops sit side by side. It’s an outing in itself for anyone who plays or simply enjoys browsing music stores.
